On Friday the 16th of March the HBHS Senior A Volleyball team competed in the Waikato regional Secondary Schools Volleyball final. The match started at 7:30pm at Fraser High School. A large contingent of parents and supporters turned up to see the boys take down Fraser in an epic match that lasted four sets. The first set HBHS was able to hang on for a close win. The boys grew in confidence in the second set comfortably winning 25-15. The third set was an epic battle with Fraser taking it in another close game. HBHS won the fourth set in a nail bitting, come from behind victory.
The boys have worked very hard to get the where they are and deserved the victory. I was immensely proud of the boys and wish to thank head coach Mike Polley for his huge contributions to the team. The boys are now off to the National Secondary School Volleyball Championships in a good position to face some tough competition. The win gave HBHS the only Waikato spot in the top half of the draw at Nationals. We are sure to represent the region well at the competition and look forward to some good results.

Hauraki Plains are a strong team and will be playing in their first final in the Waikato competition. There should be a lot of support for Hamilton Boys High School as teachers and students descend on Gallagher Hockey Grounds at Innes Commons. The game will start at 7.30pm. See you there!
