Waikato Music Competition Results

The New Zealand Concert Bands National Festival was held in Hamilton at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts from Friday 14 – Sunday 16 September.

The following students from Hamilton Boys' High School were involved in performing at this festival:

Head of Music, Adrian Botting attended the day.  Student Reben Nieuwoudt commented on the event:

There were a whole bunch of bands performing at the University.  I play trumpet for the Waikato Youth Symphonic Band; we won a gold as well as a trophy for the top performance.  I enjoyed the day, and particularly enjoyed listening to the other school's and open band competitors.  There were a lot of good musicians attending.  It is definitely an event worth attending, if you can make it along.
