Hooker Hayden Winsnewski then scored a spectacular try, bursting from a lineout and out-pacing the defence. Winger Jesse Dodunski finished off a fine backline set piece to score in the corner. Grassroots Trust player of the day Bruce Jones then dived over from a ruck to score beneath the posts. 3 of the 4 tries were converted by 1st 5 Josh Smith.Halftime score 26-3.
In the 2nd half outstanding No.8 Kallum Andrews scored another hard running try, which was quickly followed up with a clever run to score from flanker Hugh Blake. Both tries were converted by Russ Parai. Other players to impress included flanker Kane Jacobson, halfback Kurtis McNaughten and fullback Henare Hira. The team celebrated their win in front of a large and appreciative crowd and look forward to returning to NZ on Sunday to their families, school and supporters.
