National Cycle Racing Gold Medal Winners
The HBHS Junior and Senior Cycling teams had a particularly successful run during the recent National Championships in Fielding. The Junior team comprised of Sam Gaze (Yr 10 - Captain), Stephen Brunskill (Yr 11), Danyon Inwood (Yr 11), Sam Dobbs (Yr 9)and Corby Price (Yr 10). This group came fifth overall in the time trials, and won important individual honours. Sam Dobbs won two gold medals in the Under 14 Road Race and Points Race, while Danyon Inwood won silver in the Road Race.
The Senior team was made up of Scott Creighton (Yr 12 – Captain), Luke Weston (Yr 12), Sean Fleck (Yr 12), Ben Chamberlain (Yr 13) and Tom McGlauchlan (Yr 11) placed fifth in the time trials as well. Scott Creighton won gold in the Under 19 Road Race. These are spectacular results, considering the breadth and depth of the talent in this code, nationwide.
