William MacErlich Memorial Rugby Match

Today at lunchtime, 44 of our best rugby players took to the Number 1 field to contest the William MacErlich Memorial Match.  This was the tenth year that the match has been played, and the first in the new format, which saw teams of Day students take on the Boarders of Argyle House.  This match is played to honour the memory of William MacErlich, a Year 12 student who tragically died in 2005 after a very short illness, and who was a member of our school's cricket and rugby teams, as well as a boarder at Argyle House.  The match was contested in the best of spirits, and the Boarders took the win, rather easily as it turned out, with a score of 43- 14.  We will feature extended coverage of this fixture in our upcoming High Achiever newsletter.
