Tyran Whyte Wins National Karate Competition
Tyran Whyte competed in Wellington for the Kyokushin New Zealand Nationals on August 12th. Kyokushin is full contact fighting. Recently Hamilton Boys’ High School hosted Sensei Tahi Parata as he trained and tutored some of our students – this is Tyran’s Sensei. Tyran won the New Zealand Boys 14 - 17years Light Weight title after a series of fierce bouts.
Bringing home a trophy provided Tyran with a wonderful sense of achievement, justifying all of the training and commitment that this sport requires.
From the eight people that entered this competition in Wellington from Waikato Central Club – seven won their title fights. If you would like to learn more about Kyokushin Karate, ask Tyran, or contact Sensai Parata.
