Swim Champ Returns

Jesse Reynolds arrived back at school this week after attending the Paralympics NZ Swim Camp.  He has learnt a great deal about the pathways for elite athletes within PNZ and is excited about the possibility of competiting at the highest level.  Jesse has been moved from the National development squad.  He has instead been fast tracked to the 'Xccelerate to Xcellence' programme to enable him to compete more frequently at an international level this year.

Jesse not only achieved another PNZ national record during intensive development sessions on camp; he also improved on the records he currently holds.  Jesse has qualified for the National Champiionships in April, the Arafura Games in Darwin in May, and is likely to make the final qualifying time for the Pan Pacific Championships in Canada in August.  Each of these presents him with an exciting opportunity to prove his ability in the pool.

Jess is looking forward to anther year at HBHS and doing well at the up and coming swimming sports.  He hopes to be able to represent the school at the inter-school sports in a few weeks.  We look forward to seeing him shine.
