Stop Press: HBHS National Softball Selections
The Softball New Zealand National Age group tournaments are played during the month of January across New Zealand with Waikato represented at the U15, U17 and U19 Boys tournaments. HBHS has a large representation in all these teams.
At all tournaments a Tournament team and a Tournament Rest team is named along with individual awards for Top Batter, Most RBIs(runs batted in),Top pitcher and MVP(most valuable player)
It is our great pleasure to inform you of HBHS players who received recognition at these tournaments.
U17 Boys-Khalid Gilbert-Top Batter
Levi Elliott-Most RBIs(11) and (5th best batting average)
Vinny Harris (6th best batting average)
All 3 players were selected in the NZ Team.
Jackson Baird-Gillett(4th best pitcher)
Jackson was selected in the Tournament Rest team.
U15 Boys-Tipene Atama(3rd best batting average)
Tipene was selected for the Tournament Rest team
Also SNZ Coach John Love has named his Junior Black Sox team to participate in the Southern Cross Challenge Tournament being held in April at Christchurch.
Again this includes to students attending HBHS;.Levi Elliott and Hohepa Monk.
These selections are of huge significance in the Softball fraternity. The HBHS sporting community will celebrate what these two young men have achieved.
