Scuba Day

Four DTR classes assembled by the school pool on Friday to enjoy a day of instruction on scuba diving.  Successful DTR students are considered for the Outdoor Education programme in Year 11, so a number of highly motivated boys are interested in this option.  Five stations were set up by the private training provider, including navigation, theory, snorkelling, setting up the gear and scuba diving itself.

Scuba day is a high interest end-of-year activity.  It provides the boys with a sense of what might be involved in pursuing scuba diving, and puts them in contact with instructors that they can work with if they wish to learn to dive, later.
