Painting Selected for International Publication

HBHS Art teacher Heather Bramwell has had a painting selected for publication in an international book of portraiture. The painting is part of an ongoing series exploring the human condition via anthropomorphism. Artists were encouraged to submit portraits in a range of media with open selection for an internet exhibition. Ms Bramwell was invited to enter, and made her submission along with 78 other artists from Europe, the US and closer to home. An international panel selected her painting to be displayed permanently on-line in a collection curated by Dale Copeland

‘Portrait of the Artist’ is being collated at the moment. This book will feature the twenty five winning images, as well as thumbnails of all of the entries.

Ms Bramwell did a four year diploma in Design, then a BMA with Honours at Wintec, prior to teacher training. She has worked extensively with adult learners as well as high school students. Her philosophy of Art is informed by her experiences as a teacher – she believes that everyone has the potential to develop skills in this field, and that all students should have access to a positive Art experience. A copy of ‘Portrait of the Artist’ will be added to the HBHS Art Library on publication.
