NZ Army Band visits HBHS

The New Zealand Army Band is on a tour which includes schools; HBHS snapped up the opportunity to secure a performance, which occurred during assembly yesterday.  We have established links with the band, and are investigating ways to help some of our top musicians sign up for both a musical and military career. 

The Army Band play a wide repertoire of music from Glen Miller classics to Michael Jackson.  A highlight of the performance was a rousing rendition of 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy'.  The group were well received by the boys, and have highlighted an important aspect of Army life: that it is possible to cultivate life long skills in a very broad range of disciplines when you become a soldier.
