More impressive results for HBHS Motocross Rider

Teacher in Charge of Motocross, Mr Nathan Vassella, reports on Josiah Natzke's latest success in his sport...

On the first weekend of July, Josiah Natzke competed in the annual Battle of the Clubs held at the world class Taupo motocross facility.  Motorcycle clubs from around New Zealand selected their best riders to compete in this event. Therefore, this event attracted exceptional riders, some of whom compete internationally.  Josiah had an outstanding weekend aboard his Yamaha YZF250 and won both of his races. In the process of winning his races, Josiah beat the current 14-16 year 250cc champion and also the current 15-16 year 125cc champion.  In April this year, Josiah won the 12-14 year old 125cc National title. However, he is now riding faster than ever. During the Battle of the Clubs his lap times were comparable to some of New Zealand’s best senior riders. Josiah attributes his increase in speed to his improved fitness and strength.  Josiah is part of the HBHS Year 10 Elite Sport Academy, and with the help of his teacher (Mr Todd Miller) and fitness adviser (Ms Katherine Prumm, who is a two-time Motocross World Champion) has vastly improved his physical conditioning. We look forward to more success for Josiah in the future.
