Joshua Taylor receives ATCL Diploma in Musical Performance

HBHS Year 11 student Joshua Taylor was recently awarded the Associate Teacher College of London (Trinity) Diploma in Clarinet, after completing the examination at the end of last year.  The examination, which Joshua described as "challenging", required him to play three performance pieces within a timeframe for the examiner, as well as prepare notes on the background, context and significance of each piece.  This qualification, according to our Head of Music Mr Adrian Botting, is essentially the equivalent of a undergraduate university degree, so for a student as young as Joshua to achieve this feat is exceptional.  With Cambridge International Examinations on this year, Joshua will defer beginning the next level of this qualification, the Laureate, until next year.  We congratulate Joshua on this exceptional achievement and look forward to hearing him in action on stage in the future.
