Isaiah Priddey wins Under 18 New Zealand Cross Country Championships

In what is proving to be a stellar year, Isaiah Priddey has picked up his latest New Zealand title, winning the Under 18 Cross Country Championships on Sunday 7 August at the Auckland Domain.  The conditions were, to put it politely, challenging, with the cold, wind and mud making the race a battle of attrition.  Isaiah led a bunch of six boys for most of the race and managed to pull away at the end of the 6km race to take the win.  In addition, the race doubled as the Oceania Championships, so he was also awarded the gold medal and title of Oceania Under 18 Champion, which is another outstanding accomplishment for our talented middle distance runner.  Other HBHS boys to compete and finish were Sam Montgomerie, who finished 24th, Sean Trowern in 34th place and William Swales who finished in 45th place.  Congratulations to all of these boys on their efforts and thanks to Mr Vaughan Priddey for the report and photographs.
