Isaiah Priddey wins Open Mens 1500m at Porritt Classic

Last weekend, HBHS Year 12 student Isaiah Priddey won the Open Mens 1500m race at the Porritt Classic, after electing not to run in the boys event.  In addition to this, Isaiah won the race in a time of 3:52.12 minutes, beating his own previous best time and setting a new record in this event for our school.   This win is the latest in a series of excellent results for Isaiah this year.  He has already won the Capital Classic Under 20 1500m, the Auckland Under 20 1500m, and finished second in the New Zealand Under 20 3000m.  Olympic silver medalist Nick Willis has identified Isaiah as a junior athlete to watch, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing him in action in our school athletic sports day, as well as in upcoming events.
