Irvine Frank "Tai" Mitchell Born 20-10-1919 Passed Away 10-11-2014

Last Monday, Irvine Frank Mitchell, known as Tai, died at the age of 95.  Tai was a member of the Hamilton High School 1st XV Rugby team and 1st XI Cricket team from 1935 - 1936 and he later went on to become an All Black.  In 2005 Tai was presented with an Honours Cap for his contribution to HBHS Sport and as a former member of our elite rugby team, and was absolutely delighted to receive this tribute.  Whenever Tai watched the school team playing in the secondary schools championship on the Sky Sport Rugby Channel, he always wore his hat as he said it brought them luck.  Considering the results HBHS has achieved last year and this year, we have to agree with him.  We pay tribute to Tai, and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Anne, his children Carol and Ross, and all of his family at this time.
