Inline Hockey Success

During the first week of the holidays, a team of nine students travelled up to Auckland to participate in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Inline Hockey Championships.

The Tournament started off with a bang as we beat Macleans College 7 - 1 in the opening game.  In the following two games we suffered narrow defeats to last year’s runners-up, Keri Keri High School and Francis Douglas Memorial College. This sent us into the second division Plate Semi-Final where we won 10 - 1 against Waihi College.

We then played our greatest rivals New Plymouth Boys’ High School in the Plate Final. We managed to pull off a great victory which meant that we would retain the Plate for the second consecutive year.  This also meant that we were placed fifth overall.

On behalf of the team I would like to thank Miss Kueh for helping organise the trip and for showing such dedication towards Inline Hockey, also Mark Leishman for helping coach the team and to Alana Jordaan for managing the team with such dedication.
