Inline Hockey National Tournament Report
For the first time, HBHS has come out on top in Inline Hockey, after winning the National Tournament, held in Hamilton last weekend. Teams from around New Zealand came to compete for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Inline Hockey Trophy. HBHS had a shaky start to their games but were still able to overcome the pressure exerted by other teams. After consecutive wins it was clear they were dominating the rink. When the draw was released for the final game, there was no surprise that HBHS was one of the teams. In the final, Nelson College put up a good fight, scoring the first goal. HBHS leveled the score within minutes, making it anyone's game going into half time. However, in the second half HBHS stepped it up, with a goal in the first minute. Nelson College were not able to compete and didn't get another shot off on goal. The final score was 4 - 1 to HBHS. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the event and thanks to all of our supporters.
