Indoor Rock Climbing

Daniel Krippner (Year 13), Duncan Barnard (Year 13) and Zach Schuster (Year 11) recently competed in the Central North Island Regional Indoor Rock Climbing competition.  Daniel placed second in Round 1 (Rotorua), 2 (Tauranga) and 3 (Hamilton) in the Opens category.  Zach place nineth in Round 2, and sixth in Round 3 in the U16 category, while Duncal placed sixth in Round 3.

The competitions consist of two qualification climbs, where competitors score points depending on how high up the wall they progress.  The top eight competitors then go through to the final and the climber that gets the furthest wins.  This sport is developing a strong following, and any student who is interested in getting involved should contact Daniel Krippner in the first instance.
