Individual Athletes Shine

Year 9 student JonJon Zhao is our latest national champion, having won a gold medal at the National Table Tennis Championships in the Under 13 competition.  He backed this up by very nearly winning the Under 15 competition, finishing with a silver medal in this division and marking him as one to watch over the next few years.  In Lawn Bowls, Bryn Hastie and Alex Middleton finished third in the North Island Bowling Championships, and our Cross Country team had a strong showing at the Waikato Bay of Plenty Championships, with Connor Tristram finishing second in the junior event, Isaiah Priddey winning the intermediate race, with Bradley Cullen finishing third and Sam Montgomerie fourth, and in the senior race Jacob Priddey finished first.  In the teams competition, the HBHS junior runners finished second, and, unsurprisingly, the intermediate team finished first.  Congratulations to all of these athletes on their fine efforts.
