Honours shared in senior rugby today

With the HBHS 1st and 2nd XV's not playing today due to Super 8 commitments, it was the 3rd and 4th XV's who represented the school in Waikato rugby this weekend.  Both teams played at St John's College in perfect conditions today, with the 4th XV drawing first blood, beating the St John's 2nd XV 29 - 24.  The HBHS 3rd XV (pictured in action at right) then took on the St John's 1st XV, and with Kane Sarjeant and Poasa Cama running in tries, HBHS led 12 - 6 at half time.  The mounting penalty count proved costly in the second half, with St John's Joe Tourelle making HBHS pay for any infringement in their own half.  St John's eventually won the match 20 - 12.
