Head Prefect's Address: Rahiti Teokotai-White

Good morning boys. I am Rahiti Teokotai-White, your Head Prefect for 2011.

I came to Hamilton Boys’ High School four years ago, in 2007, a small, quiet Polynesian boy from across the road at Peachgrove Intermediate, and before that a small primary school in Tokoroa of about 150 students.
I arrived scared and unaware of what this large school had to offer. But by the end of the year, I had taken to Hamilton Boys’ High School like a duck to water, making many new friends along the way.
Throughout my time at Hamilton Boys’ High School I have been involved in all aspects of school, most notably being named Captain of the Senior A Water Polo team as a Yr 12, with a team going on to win the WSS title for the first time.  I have also been a S.A.F.E. leader, a part of ALP and IGCSE classes and performed for the Pacifica Group at regional competitions.
At leadership camp, Mrs Hassall told us that whoever was named a prefect should not think of personal rewards, but of how they could change, influence, help and ultimately improve our wonderful school. I want to improve the school by getting to know you boys. You are the leaders of the future. So if you see me around school and want directions or help or just to talk, I’m not scary, just come say 'hi'. My advice is to work hard and put your heart and soul into everything you do. As the Nutra-Grain ad says, 'you only get out what you put in'. I hope you all have a wonderful first year at Hamilton Boys’ High School and I get to know some of you throughout the year.
Thank you
