HGHS/HBHS Production Rocks

Students from Hamilton Girls' and Hamilton Boys' High Schools performed wonderfully over the last week, bringing the history of popular music to their annual joint stage production.  Rock It featured music and dance from the 1940s, including the Andrews Sisters and the Glen Miller-big band era, as well as stars of the 1960s and later, like Rolling Stones and Beach Boys, Queen, Michael Jackson, Blues Brothers and the Back Street Boys. 

The students started work on the production in term 2.  The show was extremely vibrant, and featured the HBHS Jazz Express and Gypsy Pickers, who won gold at the Waikato Music Competition on Monday. 

The show was lead by HBHS Head of Music Joanna Dickinson, the school's Head of Dance Vicki Wenham and Ms Margie Wynne-Jones as director.
