HBHS win Star and Executive Trophies as the top rowing school at the Maadi Cup Regatta

It has been a wonderful week of results out at Lake Karapiro for the HBHS Rowing Squad and it was capped off in fine style today as HBHS won the Executive Trophy as the top sweep oar school and the Star Trophy as the best overall rowing school in New Zealand.  In addition, an HBHS crew made up of Under 17 and Under 16 rowers won a heroic bronze medal in the Under 18 Maadi Cup race, which is all the more impressive when you consider that these rowers had been racing in multiple events in their own age groups.  The medals won on Friday and Saturday were a gold in the Under 16 Double Sculls, a gold in the Under 15 coxed Eight, a gold in the Under 17 coxed Eight, a silver in the Under 15 coxed Quad Sculls, a silver in the Under 17 coxed Four, a bronze in the Under 16 coxed Eight, a silver in the Under 15 coxed Four, a silver in the Under 18 Novice coxed Four and Eight, a gold in the Novice Double and a brilliant one-two gold and silver in the Under 15 coxed Octuple Sculls.  We congratulate all of our HBHS Rowers on their efforts this week and thank all of the coaches, supporters, parents and staff members who contribute so much to our school's successes.  Kia kaha, HBHS.
