HBHS win ChemQuest for the second year running

Students from HBHS took out the top prize for the second year in a row at the University of Waikato's ChemQuest challenge, held on Wednesday night on campus.  First place went to Year 12 students Alex Paris, Soumil Singh and Lucas Sherlock (pictured) who were awarded the James  and Wells Trophy, $150 and a gold medal each.  The ChemQuest two-year clean sweep adds to HBHS's consecutive victories at the 2013 and 2014 NZIC Analytical Chemistry Competition, also held at the University of Waikato.  This was also the second year in a row that all place-getters from from Hamilton schools.  Second place went to Hillcrest High School, third and fourth to St Paul's Collegiate, and fifth to a second HBHS team consisting of Christopher Mayo, David Lee and Visharn Sathiyakumar.
