HBHS win 1st XV championships in a come from behind thriller!

The HBHS 1st XV are New Zealand National 1st XV champions, beating St Kentigern's College 12 - 10 in a come-from-behind victory courtesy of three Bryn Gatland penalty goals and a drop goal minutes before the full time whistle. Gatland was named Player of the Match, and HBHS hooker Raukawa Neems was named Player of the Championship, after HBHS put an end to the St Kentigern's 52 match winning streak. HBHS were down 10 - 3 at half time, but sustained attacking pressure forced the mistakes by the St Kentigern's team, which Gatland was able to capitalise on. Congratulations to the team, who were cheered on by a huge crowd despite the rain, and the 1st XV would like to thank their sponsors Lodge Real Estate, Pacific Auto Carriers, Jacanna Freight, Inside Running Sports Management, Kukri Apparel, Grassroots Trust and Heartland Bank.
