HBHS take out the Intercollegiate Golf Competition

This week, sixteen boys headed off at 7am on a foggy Monday morning to compete in the Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at Matamata.  HBHS had five teams entered in this Ambrose Tournament, where teams of four all tee off, and then choose the best ball and continue to play from the best shot until the ball is safely in the hole.  The rule is that you must use three tee shots from every player.  Each team won a prize, with HBHS finishing first, second, third, fourth and sixth.  Team 3 regained the top prize for HBHS with an extraordinary 16-under round of 55, including two eagles.  This team consisted of twin brothers Zane and Jayden Cleary (Year 13), Bodie Hodges (Year 13) and Tyler Wood (Year 12).  The top 12 golfers in the school will go on to represent HBHS next week in the Intercollegiate Stroke Play Championships, with the aim of qualifying for the National Competition.
