HBHS students star at Waikato Bay of Plenty Regional TeenAg Finals

Three teams of HBHS students competed at the Waikato Bay of Plenty Regional Teen Ag Finals over the weekend.  The teams were Luke Haddon (Year 9) and Hamish McRobbie (Year 9), Max Walshe (Year 11) and Issac Cullen (Year 9) "The MI Farmers" and the brother sister duo of Ethan (Year 11) and Claire Morris (Year 9 HGHS) who competed as "The Cowshed Crew".  They completed 8 modules including tractor driving, soil testing, stock judging, antler measuring and fencing.

The two teams who made it to the final Top 5 were "The MI Farmers" and "The Cowshed Crew" who then had to complete a very difficult face-off quiz about farming. The overall champions were "The Cowshed Crew" Ethan and Claire Morris who are now off to Invercargill in July to compete at the National Young Farmers Teen Ag Grand Final.  In addition, Issac Cullen was named the Teen Ag competitor of the day.   Congratulations to all of the students who competed so well.
