HBHS students represent the region at the National Spelling Bee Finals
Congratulations to National Spelling Bee finalists Ciaran Watson and Parthiv Kanji, who competed in the National final in Wellington on Saturday. Having fought off thousands of other contestants for one of 20 places in the final, these two represented the Central North Island proudly. A special congratulations must go to Parthiv, who finished fifth in the country. The competition is open to Year 9 and 10 students, so to have two Year 9 students achieve so highly is particularly impressive. For coverage of Ciaran being interviewed by TVNZ, click here.
