HBHS retain the Boot in Super 8 Rugby win yesterday

The HBHS 1st XV have beaten their rivals from across the Kaimais in a lively 26 - 15 match that screened yesterday on Sky TV Channel 64.  Austin Pepperell and Man of the Match Tahu Hollis scored for HBHS in the first half, but Tauranga stayed very close with the half time score at 12 - 10.  Quinn Tupaea opened the scoring in the second half and Tahu Hollis's second try stretched the score out to 26 - 10.  Tauranga were not done, and sustained attacking pressure brought them another try and the final scoring act of the match to leave the score at 26 - 15.  On hand to cheer on the HBHS side were members of the 1966 and 1976 HBHS 1st XV's who had also won the Boot, which is contested when HBHS and Tauranga Boys' College 1st XV rugby teams meet.  Congratulations to both teams on a fine game of rugby played in clear, but very cold, conditions.
