HBHS retain Squash Quadrangular Trophy
Yesterday the HBHS Squash team competed in the Tauranga Quadrangular Tournament and came away with the trophy. New Plymouth Boys' High School pulled out at the last minute, however, we had comprehensively beaten them in the last exchange so there was no loss of competition with them not being there. The team narrowly beat Palmerston North Boys' High School 3 - 2 and achieved the same result against Tauranga Boys' College. In the final against Tauranga, the team headed into their final two matches down 2 - 1. Cole Robinson managed to win in 5 sets against a very evenly matched opponent and Rory McKinnon came from 2-0 down to end up winning 3-2. He is affectionately known as the clutch king, as he always seems to clutch victory from the jaws of defeat. Congratulations to the team on such a hard fought win.
The team for the fixture was:
1. Angus MacDonald - an A grade player who would be amongst the top 5 - 7 players for his age group in New Zealand.
2. Cole Robinson
3. Rory McKinnon
4. Guy Lansdown
5. Hayden Coombes
