HBHS finish fourth in Ultimate Frisbee Nationals

It is only the second year that HBHS has fielded a team in this new sport, but already it is proving popular and the HBHS team are closing in on a podium finish at national level.  In pool play at this week's National Championships, the HBHS team were mostly successful, with a 13 - 4 win over Lytton High School, a 9 - 8 win over Auckland Grammar 2, an 11 - 3 win over Takapuna Grammar and an 8 - 1 win against Whanganui High School.  Even with an 11 - 5 loss to Auckland Grammar 1 and a narrow 9 - 7 loss against Onslow College, the team qualified for the quarter-finals where they edged past Westlake Boys' High School 9 - 8.  However, in the semi-final they came up against Auckland Grammar 1 and went down 10 - 6, meaning they would face Onslow College for the 3rd and 4th place play-off.  Once again it was a tight match, and, unfortunately, once again HBHS went down, this time 10 - 8.  Congratulations to the team on their fourth place finish and thanks and congratulations to Teacher in Charge, Mr Guy Johnstone.
