HBHS Win Hauraki Motorcross Competition
On the 4th of May, 18 Hamilton Boys' High School students competed in the Hauraki Plains College Motocross Tournament, held at Slater Park in Huntly.
The event attracted over 200 riders, from 40 secondary schools. The event catered for beginners through to national level riders. This ensured the event was inviting, competitive and enjoyable for all riders.
After a long, hot and dusty day of close racing, the hard work of the Hamilton Boys' High School riders secured an impressive collection of trophies.
Ayden Dunn convincingly won the Pro 250cc class.
Josiah Natzke won the very competitive Pro 125cc class, and Dane Russell secured third. Josiah's result was extra impressive because he is a Year 9 student, and most of the other riders in this class were Year 12 and 13 students.
Josiah Natzke also won the Pro 85cc class, and Jacob Steel came fourth.
Daniel Curtis put in a solid ride, and won the Beginner 85cc class.
Hamilton Boys' High School won the Tournament outright. The win was an excellent conclusion to the day, and was secured by the solid results of all Hamilton Boys' High School riders, across all of the classes.
Students are now preparing for the North Island Secondary School Motocross Championships, held in Taranaki, on the 20th of May.
