HBHS Waimaths Results
Hamilton Gardens Pavilion hosted a highly competitive WaiMaths Competition on the 11th of August . The top three problem-solvers from more than twenty Waikato schools went head-to-head on the night. Each team was given 20 questions, covering all disciplines of Mathematics, which they had only forty five minutes to complete. Each question allowed for three chances at submitting the correct answer, a point being deducted with each attempt.
Our boys did extremely well, with the Year 9 team consisting of Patrick Costley, Michael Woods and Christopher Symon (see top photo) winning their year level competition. The Year 10 team of Daniel Carson, Matthew Munro and Sharnden Jeram placed sixth, with 20 teams competing at this year level. The
Year 11 team consisting of David Lloyd, Nathan Willcock and Samuel McCabe (see bottom photo) held off a challenge from last year's winners, St Pauls', to win by one point. Both winning teams were rewarded with a Casio Graphic Calculator each and movie tickets. We congratulate the boys on their success.
