HBHS Triathlon Teams finish on the podium at Waikato Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools Teams Competition
Last Wednesday our Triathlon teams headed south to Lake Karapiro where they competed with distinction in the Waikato Bay of Plenty Teams Competition. In the Junior event, Caleb Thomas (300m swim), Lucas Murphy (12km bike ride) and Jack Macklow (3km run) finished second, whilst the Intermediate event featured an HBHS one-two, with Danyon Hardie (500m swim), Noah Costar (17km bike ride) and Patrick Dowd (4km run) winning the title and Timothy Ng (swim), Sam Montgomerie (bike) and Logan Bigwood (run) finishing second. Our Senior team also came away with a title courtesy of Liam Barton (500m swim), Cullen Browne (17km bike ride) and Bradley Cullen (4km run). Congratulations to all of these boys on their efforts which bode well for the upcoming Nationals in Queenstown, and thanks and congratulations to our tireless Teacher in Charge of Triathlon, Mrs Nicola Coates.
