HBHS Swimming Team win National Titles

HBHS has two new New Zealand Champions, and we congratulate Andrew Jeffcoat and Danyon Hardie on their title wins this past weekend at the New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming Championships in Wellington, along with the rest of the team who performed very well.  Andrew won gold in the 16 years and over age group 200m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley, as well as bronze medals in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle events.  Danyon competed in the 15 years old age group and won gold in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m Butterfly as well as silver medals in the 100m Freestyle, 200m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle.  These results, along with commendable efforts by the rest of the team meant that HBHS finished in 6th place overall for boys' schools which is all the more impressive when you consider that the HBHS team has fewer swimmers than many other schools.  To summarise, the team notched up 20 top eight places, 25 top ten finishes as individuals and 4 top eight relay places.  Congratulations once again to all of these boys on these fantastic results.
