HBHS Rowing Draws Another Win!

Each year HBHS Rowing Supporters help to fund our nationally recognised programme, maintain its top notch boat fleet and ensure their internationally renowned coaching team have all they need to consistently achieve their outstanding results. This year the boys have worked hard on a number of fundraising activities, from chopping and selling firewood, to painting Mitre 10 Mega shelves for the new Ruakura store, and selling raffle tickets in the weekends - whilst still maintaining their five-times-a-week gruelling training sessions and racing in weekend regattas.

This is no mean feat, but focus, determination, hard work and discipline are all too synonymous with the HBHS Rowing Programme, and the parents and families who support this sport are just as driven and passionate to succeed off the water as their boys are on it. A winning combination which has contributed all round this season.

This year a luxury raffle fundraiser was launched, offering the winner the choice of an all-expenses paid Luxury Weekend for Two to Queenstown, or a Wine Weekend for Four on Waiheke Island, both valued at $5000 each. To encourage the boys and their families to sell as many tickets as they could, the incentive of a GOPRO HERO5 Session was up for grabs! Last Friday the winner was drawn by Deputy Principal Nigel Hotham under Police supervision, and the winner of the GOPRO awarded their prize in the HBHS Foyer.

Congratulations go to:

The winner of the Luxury Raffle Ticket Prize is KEN ROWE of Te Kowhai!

The lucky winner for selling the most raffle tickets was IEREMIA MOORE!

A massive thank you to Calder & Lawson, House of Travel and Torpedo7 for providing sponsorship toward the prizes.

Again, an outstanding effort from boys, parents and supporters, and a huge congratulations to Ken, and Ieremia!
