HBHS Rowing Crews in the medals at North Island Secondary School Championships

Congratulations to the HBHS Rowing crews on their success at the North Island Secondary Schools Championships, held last weekend at Lake Karapiro.  The team returned with 7 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, and are hoping to carry this form through to the Maadi Cup, which comes back to Karapiro this year in two weeks time.  Some of the winning margins were colossal, but the crews are very much aware that the true test will come once the South Island teams are added to the mix.  The full list of medalists is as follows:

Gold:  Under 17 Coxed Eight, Under 18 Novice Coxed Eight, Under 15 Coxed Eight, Under 18 Coxed Four, Under 17 Coxed Four, Under 15 Coxed Four, Under 18 Coxed Eight.

Silver:  Under 16 Coxed Eight, Under 18 Novice Coxed Four.

Bronze:  Under 16 Coxed Quadruple Sculls, Under 16 Coxed Four, Under 15 Coxed Octuple Sculls.

HBHS also won the Derbyshire Shield as the Champion North Island Secondary School.  Congratulations once again to all of these crews on their excellent results and we very much look forward to the Maadi Regatta at the end of March.
