HBHS Rowers bring home the medals from the New Zealand Club Championships
The New Zealand Rowing Club Championships, held at Lake Karapiro from 16 February to 20 February, are an integral part of the build-up towards the Maadi Regatta for our HBHS Rowers, and if current form is any indication, then they are most definitely on track. The HBHS Rowers won eight medals in total, four gold and four silver, which is even more impressive when you factor in that they are racing against mens teams. The gold medals were won in the Club Eight, the Club Four, the Under 19 Four and the Novice Quad, with the silver medals coming in the Novice Eight, the Novice Double, the Club Pair and the Novice Four. In total 37 boys competed for HBHS and they represented the school with real pride and determination, often racing multiple times each day. We wish them every success as they continue to build towards the Maadi Regatta in April this year.
