HBHS Old Boy wins Commonwealth Games Gold Medal

HBHS congratulates class of 2013 Old Boy David Nyika on his stunning success in the Light Heavyweight Boxing final at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games over the weekend.  In a unanimous points decision, Nyika was named champion one week before he turns 19 and at the beginning of what will certainly be a brilliant international sporting career.  Commentators praised his precise technique, lightening reflexes and fluid movements, which essentially negated the impact of his opponent's more aggressive strikes.  HBHS also congratulates our other Old Boys on their success at these games, with Joe Webber and Declan O'Donnell winning silver in the New Zealand Sevens team, Mountain biker Sam Gaze also winning silver, and Kenyan-based middle-distance runner  Zane Robertson winning bronze in the 5000m.  We look forward to following the success of our Old Boys, and once again congratulate them all on their wonderful achievements.
