HBHS Old Boy is New Zealand's Best Young Guitarist

The Mercury Bay Music Festival was held over Queen's Birthday weekend, and our HBHS Head Prefect of 2013, Sam Franicevic (seen here in full performance mode at the 2013 Senior Prizegiving), was officially recognised as New Zealand's Best Young Guitarist.  As a result of this win, Sam will head off to Saratoga Springs in New York to spend four days at the Tommy Emmanuel Guitar camp in June this year.  Tommy Emmanuel is recognised as one of the foremost fingerstyle guitarists in the world and has been nominated for two Grammy Awards.  We congratulate Sam on this accomplishment and we wish him well as he heads off for what we are sure will be an extraordinary experience in New York.
