HBHS Junior Cricket Team qualify for National Tournament
The HBHS Junior Cricket team has beaten Tauranga Boys' College and won the right to represent Northern Districts in the National Tournament to be held in Summer Tournament Week. In a very low scoring game played yesterday over the Kaimais, Tauranga batted first, and at one stage were 47 - for 9. They eventually made 76, and despite losing 7 wickets, the HBHS team got home with four overs to spare. Standout performers with the ball were Dominic Letford (pictured, right) who bowled 8 overs and conceded only 4 runs and Joshua Williams who bowled 6 overs and came away with figures of 5 wickets for 3 runs. Jacob Parker was the pick of the batsman, scoring just under half of HBHS's runs with a very carefully played total of 33. Congratulations to the team on making the National finals and to coach Mr Brian Jones for all of his time and effort in support of HBHS Cricket.
