HBHS Crews win nine at North Island Rowing Championships
Lake Karapiro was a happy hunting ground once again for the HBHS Rowing Squad, with our crews winning nine races and finishing third in two over the weekend. The team is building very well towards the Maadi Regatta to be held in first week of April down at Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel and are reaping the rewards of all the hours spent training on and off the water this season. The full list of results is as follows and we congratulate our rowers once again on a fantastic collection of results:
Under 15 Double: First
Under 15 Quad: First
Under 15 Eight: First and Third. As an aside, an HBHS crew has won this event for the last 15 years, which would have to be one of the longest winning streaks in secondary school sports!
Under 15 Octuple: First and Fourth
Under 16 Four: First
Under 16 Eight: First
Under 16 Quad: Fourth
Under 18 Pairs: First
Under 18 Four: First
Under 18 Quad: Third
Thanks to Mrs Lynnette Ross for her report on this event.
