HBHS Clean Sweep at WaiMaths Competition
As part of the New Zealand Mathematics week (14th – 18th August), the Waikato Mathematical Association ran their annual WaiMaths competition. HBHS entered the Year 9 and Year 10 sections which saw teams of three competing against each other in a “race” to correctly solve a chain of 20 difficult questions in 45 minutes. Not only is knowledge of the Maths curriculum required for success, but so too is creativity, analytical ability, and teamwork.
Both our Year 10 team of James-Hardy Rorimpandey, Eushin Kang and Aryan Gupta as well as our Year 9 team of Sulaiman Bahiss, Drishya Patel and Arleigh Eden did exceptionally well to win their competitions and earn custody of the coveted shield for the next year. Congratulations to all of these students on their efforts.
