HBHS Clay Target Shooting Team open their 2018 season

Last Thursday the HBHS Clay Target Shooting team attended its first shoot of the season at Auckland Metropolitan Gun Club in Pukekohe with 21 squads (105 shooters) in attendance.  Having several HBHS shooters move on from the sport at the end of 2017 and one of the shooters recovering from a broken collarbone, it was with much trepidation that some nervous shooters began the 2018 season.

The A squad consisting of Thomas Bates (Captain), Andrew Wilson, Jed Pirrit, Harrison Brown and Ethan Rendall (pictured, right) went on to shoot in fine conditions during the day to shoot 285/300 points overcoming rivals from last season, Hauraki Plains College, who shot 284/300 in the teams' event.  Congratulations to these boys on this result.

Three HBHS boys shot well individually during the day picking up prizes and placing in the top 10.  Andrew Wilson finished in 5th place, Harrison Brown in 6th Place and Ethan Rendall in 9th place.  Congratulations to all HBHS shooters on their start to the season.
