HBHS Architecture Team finish second
Back to NewsThe first year New Zealand Secondary School Architecture Competition was held in Auckland at the end of last year. The team consisted of Year 13 student Joseph Johnstone, Year 12 student Ronghao Zhang and myself, managed to came second amongst a dozen other teams.
On the 1st of December the lectures took place at St Cuthbert's College. On the 6th we presented our design at Warren and Mahoney Architects in front of four judges including a professor from the University of Auckland. So basically we had four and a half days to complete our design. We didn't sleep much in those days!
The theme was “tiny house” which fits in the background of the Auckland housing crisis. We were given 100 square metres of land space and 40 square metres of house space to produce a house for a family of four. Each member of the family had their own specific requirements. We have attached some of the photos of our concepts and designs.
