HBHS 1st XV Rugby Team through to National Championship Finals

The HBHS 1st XV are set to meet Scots College on Sunday in Rotorua at 2.55pm to contest the National 1st XV Rugby Championship Final after beating Christchurch Boys' High School 20 - 19 this afternoon.  The Christchurch team, in what has been described as "vintage Canterbury defensive rugby" held out an attacking HBHS side, but the team had the all-important one point lead to take them into the final on Sunday where they will face a Scots College team buoyed by a big win over Auckland Grammar.  As a result, the Moascar Cup, which Auckland Grammar had claimed off HBHS earlier this season, will also be up for grabs.  We remind our HBHS family and friends that they will need to make their own way to the game on Sunday and to travel safe, but on behalf of the team we urge as many of you as possible to come along in your HBHS red and black to support our team as they go for another National Title in what has been a brilliant week of results.  Congratulations to the team on their result today and see you all on the sidelines on Sunday.  The game will also be televised live on Sky 64 The Rugby Channel as part of the Land Rover 1st XV coverage.  Go team!
