HBHS 1st XI Football team win Super 8 Competition
The HBHS 1st XI Football team have secured the Super 8 title for this year, beating Palmerston North Boys' High School in Palmerston North 4 - 0. Congratulations once again to the team on their win and to coach Mr Aaron Scott.
The team first played Hastings Boys' High School and won 1 - 0, courtesy of a Lachie McIsaac goal. Then the team encountered Napier Boys' High School and notched up a good 3 - 1 win with goals by Szymon Poborowski, Stafford Dowling and Lachie McIsaac. This secured the team a semi-final berth. The next day the team played Tauranga Boys' College in their last group game and drew 1 all with Shadrake Ngungambili the lone goal scorer. In the semi final HBHS met New Plymouth Boys' High School and despatched them 4 - 0 with goals by Chris Goodwin, Luke Woolerton, Stafford Dowling and a helpful own goal. This meant the team met home side Palmerston North Boys' High School in the final and racked up the same number of goals thanks to Lachie McIsaac, Alex Frank, Chris Goodwin and Luke Woolerton. The team has won this title five times.
