Daniel Krippner to Represent NZ
Daniel Krippner (Year 13) attended the World Youth Team trial on the 9th of May and has qualified for the World Youth Championship speed climbing team. His team will be competing in Imst, Austria in late August.
The build up to Daniel’s selection has been steady. On Saturday the 26th of March both he and Zach Schuster entered the fourth round of the Central North Island Rock Climbing Competition held in Turangi. Daniel placed first in the Opens category and Zach placed eleventh in the U16 category. Several weeks later on the 7th and 8th of May, Daniel attended the second round of the Climbing New Zealand National Cup Series. He placed tenth in the Opens lead climbing and fourth place in Junior lead climbing, but managed to win both the Opens and Junior speed climbing again.
We congratulate Daniel for his dedication and his achievement in an extremely physically and mentally demanding sport.
