Celebrating Leadership Week
HBHS participated in the setting of a new world record on 21st June. As part of the Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Week (1-8 July), the Trust, supported by Westpac, sent 90 metres of clothes-line to HBHS, and 16 other locations around New Zealand. To raise awareness about Leadership Week, the boys each pegged a red sock on the line. This will be sent to Westpac Stadium on 24 June, and connected to fill the field with thousands of red socks fluttering in the wind. The world record for the most socks pegged to one clothes-line will be set once the lines are attached.
Our Year 13s were acknowledged for their ongoing leadership role at HBHS in an assembly prior to the event. We continue to benefit from their willingness to lead by example, and to show newer members of the school community what our culture of care means.
